Mattia: Hello Elisa, welcome to this space dedicated to Arts. Let’s start with the first question: How did you passion for art start?

Elisa:Hello to you, Mattia! I’m glad to answer to your question. Well, I can’t actually remember the moment in which I took interest in Art, but there’s one thing I’m sure of…I’ve always loved to draw and I’ve always tried to “copy” the works by the great artists of the past (with questionable results) but I believe this explains my deep love for Art.

-What brought you to making art and how (if you can and if you want to explain it to us) a work of your own originates?

The works made by me all come up from an approximate idea which i immediatly draw as a draft, just to fix the general concept, which can be modified during the elaboration phase. 

-What’s the biggest influence for your pictures and how much is important to have the result of the elaboration already in your mind?

As I said bfore, the starting idea is important but it’s not fundamental to follow it point by point. As the work goes on , I keep adding materials that may alterate completely the original idea. The creative process is continuos and in constant evolution and changing. 

-Are there any principal themes for your works? 

 I don’t have themes. I like to create freely.

-Would you like to tell us about any important achievement or any important memories, such a successful exhibition?

An important achievement definitely was my collaboration with the “Galleria Gagliardi” in San Gimignano.

-Apart from that..what do you do in your life?

I run a live music  venue, along with my boyfriend and two friends of mine.

-This is the end o four little chat and my last questions if there are any upcoming exhibition of yours shortly? What are your future projects?

Well, I can’t actually tell you anything right now. I’m still waiting for a confirmation.

Mattia: Buongiorno Elisa e inanzitutto benvenuta in questo spazio dedicato all'Arte, partiamo subito con la prima domanda. Come è nata la tua passione per l'Arte??

Elisa: Buongiorno a te Mattia! Felice di rispondere alle tue domande! Dunque...non ricordo il momento in cui mi sono avvicinata all’Arte, ma di una cosa sono sicura… ho sempre amato disegnare e ho sempre cercato di “riprodurre” opere di Maestri del passato, con dubbio risultato ovviamente, ma questo credo spieghi un po’ il mio amore per l’Arte.

Mattia:Cosa ti ha portato a fare Arte e se puoi e vuoi ovviamente spiegarci come nasce una tua opera?

Elisa:Le opere che realizzo nascono tutte da un’idea approssimativa che disegno subito in un bozzetto, giusto per fissare il concetto che durante la fase di lavorazione può subire modifiche e cambiamenti.

Mattia:Cosa influenza maggiormente i tuoi Quadri e quanto è importante avere già in mente il risultato finito durante l'elaborazione?

Elisa: Come detto sopra l’idea di partenza è importante ma non è fondamentale rispettarla in tutto per tutto… mano a mano che elaboro il materiale si aggiungono elementi che possono stravolgere del tutto l’idea originale… il processo di creazione è continuo e in continua evoluzione… e cambiamento.

Mattia: Quali sono i Temi principali nei tuoi Quadri?

Elisa: Non ho temi… mi piace creare in totale libertà… 

Mattia: Ci vuoi raccontare qualche tuo Traguardo importante raggiunto in questi anni o qualche ricordo importante come qualche esposizione che è andata particolarmente bene? 

Elisa: Sicuramente un traguardo importante che ho raggiunto è la collaborazione con "Galleria Gagliardi" di San Gimignano…

Mattia:Cosa fai oltre a questo nella tua Vita ?

Elisa: Gestisco insieme al mio ragazzo e altri due amici un locale di musica live della zona… 

Mattia:Siamo giunti alla fine dello spazio che ci è concesso e ti chiedo quindi di svelarci se ci saranno tue mostre a breve ?Quali sono i progetti futuri che hai ? 

Elisa: Beh per ora non posso ancora svelare nulla! Aspetto conferme!

UFO:Strangers in The Night Review

ENGLISH: 

And down  with “Hot’n ready” the UFO can’t really keep anything for themselves, with their best live album ever, with a spectacular lineup and terrific energy. This is the last album recorded with blonde Michael Schenker, before the 93’ reunion, and it was published as a double LP in 1978. Featuring  high quality tracks , “Strangers in the night” showed what a Live UFO concert really meant: A hard rock band that could have downgraded several others, but because of line-up divergences and because of their popularity not always at its highest level, never reached the peak of the Olympus, as it would have very much deserved.

With Phil Mogg  playing vocals, Pete Way playing the bass, Andy Parker playing the drums Phil Raymond playing keyboards and second guitar and the already cited Schenker playing solo guitar, the UFO break into the American arenas with a repertoire that retraces the very best of their albums from 1973 to 1978. The beginning is  “Hot’n Ready” and “Cherry” (bonus tracks that were not available in the original version), converging in Schenker’s technical masterpiece “Let it roll” where his Flying V expresses feelings that words fail to describe, with  good harmony among keyboard/guitar. There goes “Love to love”a quieter and more intense song, that leads us back to the relationship with early Mick Bolton’s UFO space psychedelia,  then leading to “Natural Thing”, in strong contrast with the unmistakable à la Schenker’s guitaristic riff, making everything converge in “Out in the streets” where Paul Raymond has great fun with keyboards and duets with the most energetic guitar solo Schenker ever gave birth to, where time stops during those few but exceptional musical notes.

“Only You can rock me”  exalts straightaway the stadium majestically rising in a delirious admiration for UFO’s pure 70’ies hard rock anthem, with one of the best rythmics that guitar has ever known ,and its riff literally carved in the memories of everyone who had listened to it at least once, leading then  to “Mother Mary” and “The Kid’s” more  granitic and  direct tracks , where Andy Parker’s heavy and hammer-like drums are emphasized.

At this point, we aim straight to the soft introduction for “Doctor Doctor” pushed to its edge thanks to the energy of the young audience, then reaching “I’m a loser”, to  loosen  things up a bit and to thrill again with “Lights out”

e sotto con Hot'n Ready, gli UFO non risparmiano colpi con il loro miglior disco live in assoluto, con una formazione eccezzionale ed una carica spaventosa. Ultimo disco registrato col biondo Michael Schenker prima della reunion del '93, questo disco venne pubblicato come doppio LP nel 1978. Tutti pezzi di altissima qualità, Strangers In the Night mostrò cosa voleva dire un concerto Live degli UFO, gruppo Hard Rock che avrebbe potuto declassare molti coetanei, ma che a causa di divergenze di formazione, e per popolarità sempre non all'altezza non è mai riuscito a raggiungere il tetto dell'olimpo, come invece avrebbe meritato.

Con Phil Mogg alla voce, Pete Way al basso, Andy Parker alla batteria, Paul Raymond alle tastiere e seconda chitarra, e il già citato Schenker alla solista, gli UFO esplodono nelle arene americane, con un repertorio che ripercorre il meglio dei loro dischi dal '73 al '78. L'inizio è dato da Hot'n Ready e Cherry (tracce bonus non presenti nella versione originale), confluendo nel capolavoro tecnico di Schenker, Let it Roll, dove la sua Flying V esprime sentimenti che le parole non possiedono, con un buon rapporto chitarra/tastiera. Si passa quindi alla piu profonda e tranquilla Love to Love, che rapporta delle parentele con la psichedelia space dei primi UFO di Mick Bolton, per arrivare alla Natural Thing, in netto contrasto con l'inconfondibile riff chitarristico à là Schenker, ed ecco confluire il tutto in Out In the Streets, dove Paul Raymond si spizzarisce con le tastiere, ed entra in duetto con l'assolo piu carico di emozioni che Schenker abbia mai dato al mondo, dove il tempo si ferma per quelle poche, eccezzionali note.

Only You Can Rock Me esalta subito lo stadio che si alza maestoso, in delirante ammirazione per l'inno degli UFO al puro hard rock dei '70, con una delle migliori ritmiche che la chitarra conosca, ed il suo riff scolpito nella memoria di chiunque lo abbia sentito almeno una volta, per arrivare a Mother Mary e The Kid's, piu granitiche e dirette, dove esalta soprattutto la batteria pesante e a martello di Andy Parker.

A questo punto, si parte con la delicata introduzione di Doctor Doctor, spinta al massimo grazie alla carica dei giovani presenti, per arrivare a I'm A Loser, per rilassare un po l'ambiente, e tirarlo di nuovo avanti con Lights Out.

Ed è qui che gli UFO tirano fuori il meglio di loro, con gli 11 minuti di Rock Bottom, il pezzo piu famoso del gruppo, calibrata perfettamente, con un duetto tra Schenker e Raymond spaventoso, che si protae per oltre 4 minuti, in una melodia piena di effetti che hanno fatto storia, e con Phill al massimo della sua estensione, arrivati a 9 minuti, gli UFO si prendono uno stacco per dar l'illusione di aver dato tutto quel che potevano, ma quando il riff di Rock Bottom riprende quota, la gioventù americano non resiste, e l'esaltazione raggiunge il suo apice.

Too Hot To Handle viene serbata per il finale, insieme a Shoot Shoot, concludendo il repertorio mostruoso del disco, con un esausto Mogg che conclude con la sua benedizione al pubblico - thank you all very much, God bless, good night-

E gli UFO tornano nello spazio profondo dal quale erano atterrati, e per altri 20 anni quasi non si ripresenteranno piu con la stessa energia.

-We are really proud to announce the 24 bands performing at the next Metal Camp Sicily III 2014. 

For the very first time in Sicily, the blasting show of the Swedish extreme metal masters MARDUK. No further comment is needed! Further outstanding presence are the Finnish KORPIKLAANI, whose music blends black metal elements with humppa, a kind of Finnish polka; surely one of the most original and innovative bands of the last few years.

The French ALCEST, for the first time in Sicily too, will make the bill even more attractive for metal fans. The

band performs a multi-faced mix between blasting extreme metal and dreamy ethereal post-rock sounds. Forerunners

and maestro's of the European blackgaze scenem, and the French E-Force with Eric Forrest ex Voivod.

Another must!Of course a wide space will be given to Italian bands, with the much-appreciated presence of the legendary NECRODEATH, one of the best thrash/black metal bands ever, and the virtuoso SECRETE SPHERE, for more refined tastes, featuring Aldo Lo Nobile, Death SS guitarist, and Michele Luppi, one of the finest Heavy Metal voices around - not only in Italy.The bill also features STORMLORD, extreme epic metal band from Rome, led by Christiano Borchi. With their latest release, "Hesperia" (a concept based on Virgil's Aeneid), they stand among the excellence of Italian metal scene.

Sicily will be represented by the best underground bands but also by well known realities, among which we are really proud to announce the exclusive reunion show, after more than 20 years, of a real legend of Italian metal: 

NUCLEAR SYMPHONY from Agrigento, the band who, with their Teutonic impressive thrash metal, was hailed as a miracle by the best metal magazines of the time.

The festival will also host the performances of Overtures from Gorizia, best band of 2013 for metalitalia.com, Dormin from Sulcis (Sardinia) and last but not least Dewfall from Puglia.

EXTREMA SULLO STESSO PALCO DEGLI IRON MAIDEN E ALTER BRIDGE

Gli Extrema sono stati confermati nella Line Up Del Rock in Idro Festival 2014, suoneranno il 1 Giugno insieme ad Iron Maiden, Alter Bridge, Black Stone cherry e agli Hawk Eye. L'ultimo album della band "The Seed of Foolishness" è uscito lo scorso 07 Maggio 2013, in Italia su Fuel Records/Self nel resto del mondo per Scarlet Records, ed ha ricevuto entusiastiche recensioni da tutto il mondo. Tommy Massara chitarrista della band dice " E' come un sogno che diventa realtà, finalmente suoneremo sullo stesso palco dei Maiden, durante la nostra lunga carriera li abbiamo incrociati diverse volte, ma o suonavano il giorno dopo, Gods of Metal 2005, oppure suonavano su un palco diverso Heineken Festival 2007, questa volta finalmente i nostri amplificatori saranno attaccati ai loro, è una grandissima emozione ed inoltre saremo l'unica band Italiana ad esibirsi durante i quattro giorni del festival" 

•  CAMBIO DI LINE UP:Gli Extrema annunciano anche un cambio nella formazione, Paolo Crimi, dopo 9 anni di dedicato servizio, non è più il batterista degli Extrema. Il nuovo batterista è Francesco "Frullo" La Rosa con la quale la band ha avuto il battesimo del fuoco lo scorso 23 Febbraio all'Exenzia Rock Club di Prato. Le motivazioni dell'abbandono di Paolo sono personali, non c'è stato nessun litigio, semplicemente già prima del tour Europeo dello scorso Novembre/Dicembre Paolo aveva manifestato il bisogno di abbandonare il suo posto perchè non più motivato a fare tour e più desideroso di diventare un insegnante di batteria a tempo pieno. La band gli augura tutto il bene del mondo per il proseguio della sua carriera come insegnante di batteria.

Extrema have been confirmed for the Line Up of Rock in Idro festival 2014 held in Bologna (Italy). They will perform on the 1^st of June with Iron Maiden, Alter Bridge, Black Stone and Hawk Eye. The band’s latest album  “ The Seed of Foolishness” was released on the 7^th of May 2013, in Italy on Fuel Records and on Scarlet Records in the rest of the world, and received enthusiastic reviews Globally. The band’s Guitarist Tommy Massara explains “It’s like a dream become reality, to finally perform on the same stage as Iron maiden, who we have met a few times over the years but always ended up performing either the day before or the day after; for example God’s of Metal 2005 or at the Heineken Festival 2007 where we played on the same day but on a different stage, only this time our Amps will be linked with theirs. It’s also an true honour to be the only Italian band on that day’s line up”

• CHANGE OF LINE UP:Extrema also announces a change of line up, Paolo Crimi, after 9 years has left the band. He has been replaced by Francesco “Frullo” la Rosa who had his baptism of fire on the 7^th of feb at the Extenzia Rock Club in the town of Prato. Paolo’s decision to leave the band is strictly personal and they remain close friends. Paolo had expressed a wish to leave the band shortly before the last November/December’s European tour due to problems with his goal of becoming a full time Drum Teacher. The Band wishes him all the luck in the World.

THINE: NEW ALBUM AND MORE INFO

ITALIANO  I THINE, enigmatico quintetto dark rock/prog Inglese, hanno completato le registrazioni del loro terzo studio album ‘The Dead City Blueprint’ che uscirà su Peaceville Records/Audioglobe il prossimo 28 Aprile.

Il successore dell’acclamatissimo “In Therapy” (2002) arriva dopo 12 anni ed è stato registrato nei leggendari Academy Studios inglesi (Paradise Lost, Anathema, My Dying Bride)

Nati nel 1995 nello Yorkshire come trio, Alan Gaunt, Paul Groundwell e Daniel Mullins (ora batterista dei My Dying Bride) uscirono allo scoperto nel 1997 con l’atmosferico prog/doom del primo demo tape “Journeys”. L’anno dopo firmarono per l’etichetta Peaceville Records che ha subito pubblicato il debut album “A Town Like This” seguito a quattro anni di distanza da “In Therapy”, il cui sound si avvicina sempre più a quello di Katatonia e Anathema. La line up fu presto completa con l’arrivo di Dylan Rhodes alla chitarra ritmica e Richard Swift al basso.

ENGLISH  Thine, the enigmatic UK dark rock/prog quintet have completed work on their third studio album, ‘The Dead City Blueprint’, which is due for release on Peaceville Records April 28th 2014. Thine entered the hallowed & legendary Academy Studios (Paradise Lost, Anathema, My Dying Bride) to record the long overdue follow-up to the acclaimed 2002 album, ‘In Therapy’, & sees the band building upon the sublime hooks & dark existential themes from prior works.

Having formed in 1995 in Yorkshire, UK with the core trio of Alan Gaunt, Paul Groundwell & Daniel Mullins (currently handling drum duties with My Dying Bride), Thine initially burst onto the scene in 1997 with the release of the atmospheric prog/doom ‘Journeys’ demo tape, with the debut album of boundary-warping metal noir, ‘A Town Like This’, appearing on Peaceville the following year. Thine’s most accomplished work to date, ‘In Therapy’ saw light of day a full 4 years later, & showcased a more sleek & immediate sound, bringing comparisons to other dark & emotional acts such as Katatonia & Anathema. The band line-up is completed by Dylan Rhodes on rhythm guitar & Richard Swift on bass.

It has been such a long & grueling process with countless collapses & relapses & a traumatic voyage on numerous levels, but this opus is finally in the flesh so to speak.
