REVIEW: TEMPERANCE-TEMPERANCE (2014-Scarlet Records)

The Temperance are an Italian band formed in 2013 by the efforts of five musicians who have been active for 10 years in music, with bands like Secret Sphere and Bejelit . This also allowed them to share the Stage with   groups such as Rhapsody of Fire, Dragonforce, Parkway Drive, Rage and many others.
On April 15, the first record via Scarlet Records, of this young band is marked by influences either Electronic and  Folk and winks at more extreme genres  and making them such a  breath of fresh air in the National Panorama and beyond.
 The disc was Mixed and Mastered by Simone Mularoni (DGM) in the Domination Studio of San Marino.
The group has already presented a preview of the disc during the Release Party held April 5, 2014 at RNR Arena in Romagnano Sesia in the province of Novara.
The disc contains 11 tracks, all of them lasting more than 4 minutes. The first song is:

• Tell Me: This track opens, starting immediately with a cadenced rythm,  joned  by  the voice of Chiara Tricarico, a clean voice approached shortly after by a Growl clearly performed by a man.  The power of the track lies in a simple and easy to remember  chorus and  where some  guitar solos take us back to the chorus mentioned above.
• Heavens Above:  This track opens with just voices and it soon streams in a typical electronic sound to then burst in a tendencially Metal sound, joined by the voice with Metal instrumental lines. Chiara’s voice leads us then to a more melodic passage, where the female voice takes us then to the chorus.
• Hero: Hero starts in an different  way than the previous 2.The beginning is characterized by a  A-cappella beginning,, approached by the keyboards and the other instruments immediately after. For four minutes, and thirty seconds the song drags us into sounds closest to Epic Metal compared to those that have previously been touched. and once again the Growl is so powerful to transport us to the main song Refrain.
• Breathe:  Fourth song and second single from the discfrom (which a videoclip was made) is now to the song with a slower rythm the which combines the quick cuts of the keyboard very well built and stuck with the rest of the instruments, in what is the rest of the song, joined by a completely clean male voice (the first ever in the disc)
• Stronger: New track  and  new structure of the song, this opens with a small instrumental part lasting a little more than fifteen seconds,. Again with a male voice and then joined by the voice of Chiara, everything goes on as if there was a dialogue between the two that “closes” with guitars. And that's how you get the most peaceful song of the album.
• Scared And Alone: Shows us that the group can reach even more Electrical sounds, a different one from what we’ve listened until now.  It is joined by the drums as if it was a “click” and then drags us to a more Metal fiff, as we’re accostumed to and tho the same contrast between the male and the female voice.
• To Be With You:  The song is fast-paced and it marks what is the very first single of the band. The voice doesn’t give us much time to think and it alternates itself between more melodic moments and less melodic ones, where the Growl voice is once again the protagonist
• The Fourth Season:  Starts with a simple but effective orchestration that amazes us right away, by including guitar, drums and bass. This is the most lengthy song of the album. After one minute and a half, the voice comes in twisting once again everything we thought we might hear in the track. 
• Lotus: a This song starts with an A-cappella  voice follone right after by some music which creates a fede out for the voice, and slowly  juxtaposing, the moine by the drums, marking the beats as if it wanted to put them all in a line and then strats, as fast a s a train for the ninth song. More evident  is the folk inspiration that the group presents
• Dejavú:  Opens with an electronic intro, which repeats itself throughout the song, accompained by other instruments. Makes us listen to a nice chorus from  the gruoup “Pulito”
• Relentlessly:  The initial noises reminds uso f those of  ablacksmith forging a new tool or  a new weapon, follone by a stormo f Metal sounds, in which the male voice is initially the mainj protagonist. The female voice then joins him and leale just during the next  verses.

Overall, the disc ia very pleasant and surprising. It can create various types of atmospheres and also knows how to tear them apart in  a few seconds, thus constructing  something always  new and never banal. A must-have in your collection and,  if possible a must-see live band because of the experience of each member of the group and given the proposal that gives us the fun is GUARANTEED! For women's voices lovers is a record that just cannot escape. Buy it then, it’ll surprise you!

I Temperance sono una band Italiana formata nel 2013, dagli Sforzi di cinque musicisti ormai attivi da 10 anni nel campo musicale, con Band come Secret Sphere e Bejelit, ciò gli permette anche di condividere il Palco con gruppi del Calibro di: Rhapsody of Fire, Dragonforce, Parkway Drive, Rage e tanti altri ancora.
Il 15 Aprile vede l’uscita del primo disco tramite Scarlet Records, sulla lunga distanza di questa giovane band contraddistinto sia da influenze Folk che Elettroniche e che strizza l’occhio a generi più Estremi, riuscendo e risultando cosi una bella ventata d’aria fresca nel Panorama nazionale e non solo.
il Disco è stato Mixato e Masterizzato da Simone Mularoni (DGM) ai Domination Studio di San Marino.
Il gruppo ha già presentato in anteprima il disco durante il Release Party tenutosi il 5 Aprile 2014 alla RNR Arena di Romagnano Sesia in provincia di Novara.

Il Disco conta undici Canzoni, quasi tutte della durata totale di più di quattro minuti la prima canzone del disco è:

• Tell Me: Apre questo disco iniziando subito spedita con dei ritmi scanditi e ben serrati, a cui si unisce la voce Femminile di Chiara Tricarico, voce pulita a cui si accosta un Growl poco dopo di chiaro timbro Maschile, la potenza del pezzo sta in un ritornello semplice e facile da ricordare a cui si inseriscono assoli di chitarra che ci riportano al ritornello già menzionato sopra.

• Heavens Above:   ha una partenza di sole voci, che va presto a sfociare in sonorità tipiche dell’elettronica per poi esplodere in sonorità tendenzialmente Metal, a cui si accosta anche  la voce con Linee Strumentali sotto di stampo evidentemente Metal, la Voce di Chiara cosi ci porta a un passaggio più melodico dove la voce femminile ci porta poi a finire sul ritornello.

• Hero: Hero inizia in un modo ancora più diverso rispetto alle 2 precedenti, l’inizio si contraddistingue per un inizio a cappella, dove si accostano poi una tastiera e subito dopo tutti gli altri strumenti, per quattro minuti e trentadue secondi la canzone ci trascina in sonorità più vicine all’Epic Metal rispetto a quelle che precedentemente sono state toccate. e ancora una volta viene incastrato un Growl potente per trasportarci così al Refrain principale della canzone.

• Breathe: quarta canzone del disco e secondo singolo di cui è stato creato anche un Videoclip è fino ad ora la canzone con le atmosfere più lente, a cui si uniscono degli stacchi di Tastiera molto ben costruiti e incastrati con il resto degli strumenti, in quello che è il resto della canzone a cui si unisce anche una voce Maschile per la prima volta dall’inizio del disco totalmente pulita.

• Stronger: Nuovo pezzo e nuova struttura del brano, il brano si apre con una piccola parte strumentale della durata di poco più di quindici secondi, che nasce con una voce Maschile per poi incontrarsi con la voce di Chiara, il tutto prosegue così come se ci fosse un dialogo fra i due che va a chiudersi con delle chitarre ed è così che si forma quella che è la canzone più pacata dell’intero disco.

• Scared And Alone: ci mostra che il gruppo può toccare anche sonorità decisamente più Elettroniche di quelle che finora abbiamo incontrato, a cui si accosta inizialmente una batteria come fosse un Click e che ci trascina ai Riff più metal, come ormai ci hanno abituato e al solito Contrasto Voce Maschile e Femminile che ci segue per tutto il disco.

• To Be With You: la canzone è veloce e diretta, segna così quello che è il primissimo singolo della Band la voce non da tempo di pensare troppo si divide in momenti più melodici alternati a momenti meno melodici a cui torna a farne anche da protagonista la voce Growl.

• The Fourth Season: Inizia con una Orchestrastrazione semplice ma efficace che ci spiazza mettendoci quasi subito Chitarre, Batteria e Basso, la canzone è la più lunga del disco intero. Dopo un Minuto e venti entra la voce stravolgendo ancora una volta tutto quello che si credeva di poter arrivare a sentire nel pezzo.

• Lotus: anche questa canzone inizia con una voce a cappella a cui si accosta subito una musica che creando un fade out per la voce, per arrivare dopo poco a sovrapporsi, per poi far entrare la batteria che scandisce dei colpi come volesse mettere tutti in riga e cosi è perché poi parte come un treno in corsa questa nona canzone, evidente è l’ispirazione più Folk che il gruppo presenta.

• Dejavú: Nasce con un intro elettronico, che va ripetendosi per quasi la durata intera della canzone, accompagnata dagli altri strumenti. Ci fa sentire anche un bel coro del gruppo Pulito.
• Relentlessly: i rumori iniziali ricordano quelli di un fabbro che forgia un nuovo arnese o una nuova arma, a cui si unisce poco dopo una raffica di suoni Metal, in cui la voce maschile inizialmente ne fa da padrona, si intreccia di conseguenza la voce femminile per lasciarla solo durante le Strofe successive.

In Definitva il Disco si mostra molto Piacevole e in molti punti Sorprendente sa creare i vari tipi di Atmosfere che promette e sa anche smontarle pochi secondi dopo costruendo quindi qualcosa di sempre nuovo e mai banale. Da Avere nella propria Collezione di Dischi e sicuramente se possibile una band che va vista dal vivo vista l’esperienza di ogni membro del gruppo e vista la proposta che ci fornisce il divertimento è GARANTITO!!Per gli amanti delle Voci Femminili è un disco che non può proprio sfuggire quindi compratelo vi sorprenderà

NEWS: Witches of Doom

ENGLISH:

The “Witches of doom” were born in Rome in ealry 2013 and in less than a year, the group has made its way signing a contract a recording a dis. In late 2013 they perform in various  nightclubs and then lock themselves up in the studio (Hombre Lobo studios) to record their first album, “OBEY” including 9 tracks + a ghost track

During recording sessions they find Fabio Recchia directing and keyboardist Graziano “Eric” Corrado, giving the group a rmore complete and richer sound. They give birth to a sound  in line with their influences (Black Sabbath, Depeche Mode and Cult)-

In March 2014 the group signs with Sliptrick Records, a worldwide publication and distribution contract, available via Dowload and Streaming. The group’s website will be launched soon.

Comunicato stampa Witches of Doom Witches of Doom nascono a Roma agli inizi del 2013 in meno di un anno il gruppo si fa spazio strappando un contratto e registrando un disco. Alla fine dell’anno passato suonano in giro per alcuni locali e si chiudono subito dopo in studio (Hombre Lobo Studios) per registrare il loro primo disco di nome OBEY composto da 9Canzoni più una Ghost Track. Nelle sessioni di registrazione trovano Fabio Recchia in Regia e il Tastierista Graziano “Eric” Corrado che dona al gruppo un suono più completo e ricco. Ne scaturisce così un suono in linea con quelle che sono le loro palesi Influenze quindi Black Sabbath, Depeche Mode e Cult. A marzo di quest’anno il gruppo si trova a firmare con Sliptrick Records un contratto di pubblicazione e distribuzione Mondiale disponibile via Download e Streaming. a giorni verrà lanciato il Sito della band.

Gravity a film by Alfonso Cuarón // Gravity un film di Alfonso Cuaron

“Gravity” is a movie directed by Alfonso Cuaron Orozco, in theatres October 2013

Acclaimed by the critics, the film opened during the “Mostra internazionale d'arte

cinematografica di Venezia” and won 7 Oscars in March 2014.

The story takes place in space, in a orbiting station where scientist Ryan Stone (Sandra Bullock) and astronaut Matt Kowalsky (George Clooney) are doing some reparations. Suddently the station explodes because of a critical debris storm, and the two must think of a way to get back to Earth

The seemingly fanta-scientific film, actually goes beyond expectations of this genre. Instead, it looks like an allegory of life itself of the capability to revive and to cope with the grief that ties us up with our past, of the feelings that they lock up in time. Cuaron digs up in the intimacy of the soul and its hiding feelings in the space, so vast and yet so narrow and smothering.

Two things catch up our attention in this movie : the acting and the technical quality.

There was an excellent choice of actors , who among other things give their best because of the shots used: they are in fact used to frame the characters especially with
close-ups(used in in particular with  the female protagonis) In fact, being the dialogues
essentially limited , it is often with their expressions how you understand the
feelings and thoughts of the characters. Wide angle shots are used  not
only to show space in its vastness but also to emphasize the greatness
of the universe  in contrast with  the man, so small and scared in a place
who does not perceive as his  own. .It must be underlined  that Bullock’s performance ,and the faithful representation of the space are the result of a study on the
argument. As Cuaron himself said he  has asked  for the help of
engineers , astronauts and physicists to make  us perfectly conceive perception of the absence of the lack of gravity. Sandra Bullock has instead claimed to have had contact with an astronaut,
an acquaintance of hers  , to better understand the feeling of emptiness and even the deepest
reasons for this dangerous yet exciting job.
For what concerns the technique , then there are some fresh innovations : first
a use of " lightbox " , an advanced tool created
specifically for the film , which consists of a  six meters for three cube with almost two
million LED lights that allows to vary the brightness of the actors and to replicate
perfect color and nuances of space. This cube also allows
the actress  to have the feeling of being inside a space in total solitude ,
because the light does not allow her  to see outside, so that we can empathize even more with her.
The “Lightbox” is also not the only innovation, as  there are many other instruments for shooting created specifically for the movie  (those for the camera movements in particular are very innovative). Not less   spectacular the special effects applied to the shooting .And given the colossal work that lies behind this movie we can
say without hesitation that the Oscar for " Best Editing ", " Best Director " , "Best
photography "," Best Special Effects " ," best editor "and" Best Sound "
are absolutely more than deserved . If you then the absolutely flawlessly chosen music and songs
you can even agree with the Oscar given for " Best Soundtrack " !
A wide success for “Gravity”, especially because 

A success on all fronts then to Gravity ! Especially because the search for
new means of expression is not carried too far in spite of the plot and  actually makes 
the film even stronger even in this aspect, creating a wonderful
interweaving of images made ad hoc and a story that strikes deep .

Gravity è un film del regista Alfonso Cuarón Orozco, uscito nelle sale nell'Ottobre del 2013.

Molto riconosciuto dalla critica, ha aperto la Mostra internazionale d'arte cinematografica di Venezia il 28 Agosto 2013 e si è aggiudicato inoltre sette premi Oscar il 2 Marzo 2014.

La storia si svolge nello spazio. Tutto ha inizio quando una stazione orbitante, al quale stanno lavorando per delle riparazioni la scienziata Ryan Stone (Sandra Bullock) e l'astronauta Matt Kowalsky (George Clooney), esplode a causa di una tempesta di detriti. Non rimane altro da fare, ai due protagonisti, che trovare il modo di tornare sulla terra.

Il film, apparentemente fantascientifico, va in verità ben oltre le aspettative di questo genere. Piuttosto, appare nel suo complesso come un allegoria della vita stessa, della capacità di rinascere e superare i drammi che ci legano al passato, delle emozioni che imprigionano nel tempo. Cuarón riesce a scavare nell'intimità dell'animo e nei suoi sentimenti più nascosti, in quello che è lo spazio, così ampio eppure allo stesso così stretto e soffocante.

Oltre la storia ricca di significati ci sono due cose che colpiscono di questo lungomeraggio: la recitazione e la qualità tecnica dell'opera. Per quanto riguarda la recitazione, ottima la scelta degli attori, che è tra l'altro resa all'ennesima potenza dalle inquadrature: vengono utilizzati infatti per inquadrare i personaggi soprattutto primi piani, in particolare della protagonista femminile! Infatti, essendo i dialoghi essenzialmente limitati, spesso è proprio dalle espressioni che si capisce lo stato d'animo e i pensieri dei personaggi. Sono inoltre molto utilizzati i campi lunghi non solo per mostrare lo spazio nella sua vastità ma anche per sottolineare la grandezza dell'univero in contrapposizione con l'uomo, così piccolo e spaventato in un luogo che non percepisce come proprio. C'è da sottolineare che l'intepretazione della Bullock, e la rappresentazione così fedele dello spazio sono frutto di uno studio dell'argomento,  come lo stesso Cuaron ha affermato infatti si è avvalso dell'aiuto di tecnici, astronauti e fisici per rendere alla perfezione la percezione dell'assenza di gravità. Sandra Bullock ha invece affermato di aver avuto contatti con un astronauta, suo conoscente, per capire meglio la sensazione di vuoto e anche le più profonde ragioni di questo lavoro così pericoloso ma allo stesso tempo ricco di emozioni.

Per quanto riguarda la tecnica, vi sono poi alcuni elementi di novità assoluta. Primo in assoluto l'utilizzo della "lightbox", uno strumento all'avanguardia creato appositamente per il film, che consiste in un cubo di sei metri per tre con quasi due milioni di luci a LED che permettono di variare la luminosità sugli attori e di replicare alla perfezione i colori e le sfumature dello spazio. Questo cubo inoltre fa si che l'attrice, all'interno abbia la sensazione di trovarsi in uno spazio in totale solitudine, in quanto la luce non permette di vedere all'esterno, così che si possa immedesimare ancora di pià nella parte. La Lightbox non è inoltre l'unica novità in quanto appositamente per il film sono stati create anche strumentazioni per la ripresa, in particolare per il movimento di macchina, molto innovative. Non meno ottimali gli effetti speciali applicati alle riprese.

Considerato quindi il colossale lavoro che vi è alla base di quest'opera si può affermare senza indugi che gli Oscar al "miglior montaggio", "miglior regia", "miglior fotografia", "migliori effetti speciali", "miglior montaggio sonoro" e "miglior sonoro" sono assolutamente più che meritati. Se poi si aggiungono le musiche e le canzoni scelte in maniera assolutamente impeccabile non si può che concordare anche sulla scelta dell'Oscar come "miglior colonna sonora"!

Un successo su tutti i fronti quindi quello di Gravity! Soprattutto perchè la ricerca di nuovi mezzi espressivi non è studiata troppo a discapito della trama e rende piuttosto il film ancora più forte persino sotto quest'ultimo aspetto creando un meraviglioso intreccio tra immagini fatte ad hoc  e una storia che colpisce nel profondo.

NEWS: GOOD NEWS FOR LEMMY FROM MOTORHEAD

LA KISS – a football team (owned by Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley, Doug McGhee and Brett Bouchy) had their inaugural home game on April 5^th at the Honda Center in Anaheim and Lemmy was asked to do the ‘Celebrity Coin Toss’ in front of more than 12.000 fans!

Looks like Lemmy was their lucky charm because LA KISS defeated Portland Thunder  44:34.

Lemmy made his appearance looking well. Motörhead is going into rehearsal next week and prepare for their short US tour including 6 gigs and playing the prestigious Coachella Festival twice. Slash will join in at their gig at the Nokia Center on April 11^th and will be also on stage with them at Coachella. Setlist is not quite done but rumour has it that they will play songs from their latest top album ‘Aftershock’. This will be the first time ever fans can hear songs from ‘Aftershock’ live!

Lemmy ha portato fortuna agli LA KISS che hanno poi battuto i Portland Thunder  44:34.

È la prima apparizione di Lemmy dopo il suo ricovero. La prossima settimana la band inizierà i preparativi per le sei date Americane fissate per questa primavera tra cui spicca anche la doppia data live al Coachella Festival già sold out! Slash si unirà ai Motorhead per la loro data al Nokia Center dell’11 Aprile e apparirà anche sul palco del noto festival.

La setlist non è ancora pronta ma si mormora che potranno essere suonate alcune nuove canzoni tratte dall’ultimo album “Aftershock” per la prima volta!!!
